After growing to over 300,000 attendees across its three day festival, Mexico’s Tecate Pa’l Norte Festival has Coachella-like ambitions- eyeing a livestream option and potential second weekend. This year’s iteration, which took place last weekend, was expected to bring in over $46 million in revenue. 


As labels’ focus on serving superfans intensifies, artists are increasingly utilizing platforms like Stationhead to foster fan relationships, boosting streaming revenue and chart positions in the process. Since the platform’s artist-hosted radio station app is integrated into Spotify and Apple Music, each listener counts as an individual stream. According to a recent Goldman Sachs report, the market for superfan monetization is expected to hit $4.2 billion by 2030.


Nominated by the legal firms across all areas of the industry, Billboard has announced their 2024 list of top lawyers. The group is led by Lawyer of the Year Christine Lepera, who counts Katy Perry, Drake, and Jay-Z among her clients. 


Catalog rights company Opus Music has reportedly put their portfolio up for sale. The company, which holds the rights for artists like Juice WRLD and Maluma, is seeking a sale price of more than $200 million. After an arms race in the rights acquisition space, high interest rates and market fluctuations are prompting some of these companies to cash out.
