Anna Meredith is kicking off 2027 with new work. Darling is the contemporary classical composer’s first non-soundtrack album since 2021’s Bumps Per Minute: 18 Studies for Dodgems, which followed 2019’s Fibs. The music video for the first single, “Dusky,” is out now.
The London-born, Scottish-raised experimental composer channels intricate classical music, hyper pop, and expansive ambient across her catalog. In the years since Fibs, she has released scores for the A24 film Tuesday and Netflix’s The End We Start From. -Pitchfork
