Dove Ellis, Turnstile for Fender, holiday music, and how music is the underrated force behind fashion's strongest stories

Dove Ellis
“Pale Song”
Black Butter / AMF

If being insufferable about Geese isn't enough, might I recommend being insufferable about their tour opener? Birds of a feather are flocking together, because Irish singer-songwriter Dove Ellis seems to be onto something big too.

In the lead-up to the forthcoming release of debut album Blizzard (out December 5 via Black Butter / AMF Records), Dove Ellis has released the single "Pale Song," which has wormed its way into my veins in a way that, yes, kind of does make me want to post incessantly about how much I love it. On this track, his voice reminds me of Poses-era Rufus Wainwright with a little of the clear-eyed gravitas of someone like Tamino — and, sure, the warbling depth of Cameron Winter. -Exclaim!
