After taking song topic suggestions from fans, Irish artist/producer Lenii creates 1-minute songs and emails the finished product to her subscribers each week.

Since launching its ‘Bandcamp Friday’ initiative in 2020, the d2c platform has reportedly generated $123 million for artists in that time. The program, which sees Bandcamp waive its share of revenues from artists’ sales, is set to celebrate its 40th edition on May 3rd.

Having already streamlined the process of sourcing samples for both indie artists and superstars like Drake and Kendrick Lamar, music sampling platform Tracklib has announced a new feature. Dubbed ‘Sounds,’ this new tool provides royalty-free loops and one-shoots that “complement Tracklib’s existing library of song samples, creating a one stop shop for music producers subscribed to their service.”

In a new partnership, Primary Wave’s wellness brand emeraldwave has teamed up with sound wellness company Endel. Working together, Endel “will transform music from emeraldwave’s catalog into personalized soundscapes designed to promote sleep, focus, and relaxation.”

The expiration of the NMPA’s deal with TikTok means that, as of yesterday, “music controlled by indie publishers represented by the trade body who haven’t unilaterally agreed a new direct agreement with TikTok, will be unlicensed for use on the platform.”

The John Lennon estate and the Lumenate app have teamed up on a series of mediation mixes created from Lennon’s 1973 track “Mind Games.” The mix is meant to help listeners “reach a relaxed, meditative state, and help guide your mind to a deeper state of consciousness.”
