Murex, emering markets, and YouTube viewers' monthly Shorts consumption

Murex has dropped her debut single, “Massacre,” out via Young (Sampha, Jamie xx). “Massacre” was Self-produced in Murex’s Stockholm studio. The Swedish artist’s song depicts hunger and the act of dragging oneself into destruction.
Murex is already an accomplished songwriter, propelling the work of women challenging those constraints their way. In her own work – deeply informed by storytelling and Nordic folklore – she resists the pressure to over‑define or over‑explain. It’s a protest, but also a tribute “to the countless versions of a person that exist all at once,” shifting the focus away from herself and her body as the face of the work. -Northern Transmissions
