Music education platform Yousician has teamed up with Billie Eilish to feature 30 of her hit songs for users to learn on the guitar, bass, piano, and ukulele. This partnership “marks Yousician’s latest with a major artist since Metallica in 2022, with past partnerships including Jason Mraz, Juanes, Disney and Pixar’s Soul, and Duolingo.”

Looking for a way to bypass the limitations of the current streaming model, an increasing number of artists are temporarily holding back their new releases from DSPs via alternative rollout strategies. “[Not only do we believe that offering physical releases first will not cannibalize the streaming audience], when all the different formats were released on the same day, our energy was split with our messaging. Stream the album! Buy the vinyl!” Now, a later streaming date provides a second marketing moment and allows an artist’s team to focus more energy specifically on driving traffic to those streaming platforms.
