Initially conceived of as a B-side to her last release, the title combines the word “Caribbean” with Enya, the enigmatic Irish singer and composer. On it, Pimienta trades the Gregorian chants and dramatic string arrangements she played with on “La Belleza” for a warmer, poppier sound decidedly driven by cumbia. Here, images of dragonflies, rivers and the sea abound, as do depictions of fraught emotional relationships and critiques of colonialism. Beauty is a consideration, too, though there’s also something more complex at play. “My whole ethos,” Pimienta said, is to showcase the “Caribbean sublime.” -New York Times

Finch’s bandmates shared news of the diagnosis on Monday (July 13), only two months after they announced they would be hitting the road for their final ‘The Last Hurrah Tour’, which is due to begin in October.
They launched a GoFundMe page too, encouraging fans to help with the high expenses of her treatments, recovery and ongoing care – and after less than three days, over $300,000 has already been raised. -NME
