Cold Gawd‘s forthcoming EP Glory2 brings forward the muscular distortion of their God Get Me The Fuck Out of Here LP (2022) and the lush production I’ll Drown On This Earth (2024) and adapts them to a new era for the group.

The EP’s first single “Grease” dismisses any notion that Cold Gawd have lost their edge.  The song grasps at stability in the struggle to keep moving forward. Wainwright’s exhaustion is palpable: “Brief joy found in praise” he sings “It meant nothing.” Accolades and pats on the back don’t put gas in the tank. Grease is unyielding, propulsive in the verses, and catches air in the choruses. Wainwright delivers a familiar gauzy vocal complimented by panoramic guitars, lifted higher to his vision of completeness.
