The Dare is the solo project of New York-based musician Harrison Patrick Smith, known for his blend of 2000s indie-sleaze and electroclash-inspired dance-pop. He gained attention with the 2022 single "Girls" and subsequently released his debut album, "What's Wrong with New York?" in 2024. Smith, who previously performed as Turtlenecked, draws inspiration from 80s post-punk and the 2000s indie music scene, often incorporating satirical and tongue-in-cheek elements into his music.
