Adulthood is inevitable and impossible. There’s a reason poor millennials made it into a verb; most of the time, it’s dreadful, messy, and full of emotion-stained logistics. This much is abundantly clear on Back to Pennsylvania, the forthcoming album from Anna Shoemaker, due out October 16 on +1 Records. The music is a cross-country trip with many stops, including a failed relationship in New York, a retreat home to Pennsylvania, and finally a move westward to LA, where Shoemaker settled into a new apartment and fell in love again.
