Sudan Archives, skip rates, new videos for old tracks, and why Live Nation + AEG are building more midsize venues

As Sudan Archives, Brittney Parks combines left-field strains of R&B, hip-hop, folk, and electronic music with the fiddling style of West Africa. Signed to Stones Throw Records, the musician first advanced her unique approach with a pair of EPs released during 2017 and 2018 before she made her full-length debut with 2019's Athena. Natural Brown Prom Queen, her funkier and friskier second album, arrived three years later and won the 2023 Libera awards for Best Breakthrough Artist/Release and Best R&B Record. The ecstatic dancefloor track "Dead" heralded her return in 2025.
