Spotify has unveiled a brand new AI-assisted playlist generator, initially rolling out in beta form in Australia and the UK. The new tool will create personalized song suggestions from text prompts like “an upbeat electronic playlist to power my workout” or “songs that will help me focus.” Users can then refine the results with critiques like “more pop” or “no vocals.” 

Peer nominations are now open for Billboard’s 2024 Country Power Players’ Choice list. Now through April 14th, Billboard Pro Members can each nominate one executive who they believe made the biggest impact across Country music over the past year

In a guest column for Billboard, Representative Maxwell Frost calls for a federal grant program for individual artists. In his piece, the Gen-Z congressman outlines his CREATE Art Act, a grant program designed to financially support artists making cultural contributions to their community across multiple disciplines. 

As ticket sales slow and the brand activations wane, Coachella’s status as the music and culture event of the year might be in trouble. While ‘Coachella’ and ‘festival’ edit capsule collections once dominated fashion and beauty brands’ marketing initiatives, retail analytics firm Edited is reporting just one brand has announced such a collection this year. Additionally, the annual event hosted by online retailer Revolve has downsized from two days to just one this year.
