As of April 1st, the changes to Spotify’s new royalty model will go into effect. These changes include a minimum threshold of 1,000 streams over the last 12 months for a track to be eligible for the royalty pool. 

Music/tech platform Venice has announced a new AI-powered career assistant feature, currently in beta. Dubbed ‘Co-Manager,’ the tool will assist artists with everything from creating release strategies to advising on which playlists to pitch to. 

For a limited time, SiriusXM will host a Taylor Swift channel for the run-up to her next studio album beginning April 7th. The channel will host music from across her catalog, all “(Taylor’s Versions),” “From the Vault” tracks, live recordings, bonus tracks and more. 

CTS Eventim has emerged as the big winner to purchase Vivendi’s Sees Tickets and Vivendi Village festival division. These two properties are estimated to have brought in a combined $148.26m in revenue last year. 

Online beat and sample marketplace Beatstars has announced a new creator rights platform to aid music creators in negotiations. The newly created Creator Rights Agency is “an end-to-end service that allows creators to get data-driven recommendations from experts for licensing, protecting, and getting paid for their intellectual property.”
