Rare DM, the Pitchfork memoir, and the resurrection of the holy Coachella empire

Rare DM, the New York-via-Baltimore artist born Erin Hoagg, is getting ready to release her album Attention in a few weeks. After announcing the record last month with "Compliment," today she's back with another new single called "Honey." Where the former song leaned into party-primed electroclash revivalism, "Honey" takes things down a notch into a more gothic minimal wave sound, which sets an appropriate tone for Hoagg's rumination on being afraid to fall in love: "Your tongue tastes like wine/ Miss you for a day and I want to die." -Stereogum
