Chartmetric has officially launched Onesheet, a platform that allows artists to create digital one-sheets in seconds, out of beta. The tool enables artists to “pull in data from Spotify and the web to build stunning one sheets in seconds that stay up-to-date.”

A new report from former Spotify chief economist Will Page claims that Canadian artists rank third in terms of the world’s top 1k singles. Page goes on to caution that the recent passage of Canada’s Online Streaming Act, which seeks to expand Canadian content regulations on broadcasting and streaming, would impose rules that would be “unworkable in the open, globalized world of the internet” and likely backfire given how discoverability algorithms work.

Through some clever tactics from fans and artist teams, videos featuring songs from UMPG writers are racking up views on TikTok despite the label group’s ban. Whether it’s a fan uploading the track as an original sound or a team submitting incomplete splits, UMPG songwriters are left out in the cold and royalty-less. “Sometimes there’s a song coming out and there’s four writers, and one of them is UMPG, and someone steps forward and says, ‘Hey, can you not get in the way of this one?
