Looking to meet the growing market for music business education, Creative Intell has raised money and created an animated series aimed at teaching the inner workings of the music industry to young artists. Similarly, digital audio workstation Bandlab has been releasing free tutorials and blog posts centered on industry education.
“In another attempt seemingly aimed at pushing more users towards its Premium subscription service, Spotify has begun restricting access to song lyrics on its free tier.”
Organizers of F1’s Miami Grand Prix are hoping that infusing music into the event will help turn it into appointment viewing a la the Masters or Kentucky Derby. The race’s managing partner Tom Garfinkel noted, “[we’re] intentionally infusing the entertainment lineup with regional music, including Latin heritage and nightclub-like electronic beats.” This past weekend’s musical lineup included Kaytranada, Ed Sheeran, Kaskade, Marc Anthony, and Steve Aooki.
