Hacking group ShinyHunters claims to have breached Ticketmaster and is attempting to sell the personal data of 560 million Ticketmaster users. The asking price is reportedly $500k.
Speaking to investors and analysts, Sony Music CEO Rob Stringer has called upon streaming services to charge ad-supported listeners a modest fee in an effort to close the price gap between paid subscriber and ad-supported users. While Spotify has 62% more free listeners than paid subscribers, advertising accounted for 10.7% of Q1 revenue, compared to 89.3% from paid subscriptions.
