In response to growing concerns over AI’s impact on artistic creation, digital music licensing org Merlin has launched a new initiative to provide emerging tech platforms with music created by indie artists. This program will give participating platforms access to a curated library of fully cleared music, eliminating the need for time-consuming negotiations with rights holders.
“Music streaming services are criticizing a new regulation in Canada that requires major streaming services to pay 5% of their revenue to various groups supporting the creation of Canadian content.”
