With listeners’ tastes becoming increasingly local, the amount of royalties generated by EU artists on Spotify has tripled from 2017-2023. As the ‘glocalization’ trend continues, Luminate found that almost 80% of the top 10 streams in Germany, France, and Italy came from local artists last year.
