As an initiative to raise money for global conservation efforts, Nature now has its own Spotify page. With royalties from these tracks going to global music initiative Sounds Right, the project is looking to raise over $40 million for conservation efforts in its first four years. 

Referencing the intersection of sports and culture that the NBA has cultivated as a means to growing its global fan base, NBA CMO Tammy Henault discusses how the league incorporates music and fashion into its brand. “The NBA is a lifestyle brand at its core. It attracts organic followings amongst people in music, and celebrities and talent. [We have] 2.3 billion followers across our league team and player accounts — it’s just massive the … share of volume of people we’re able to reach at any given time.”

TikTok competitor Triller has announced a merger with AGBA, a Honk Kong financial services company, to create a multi-faceted company focused on social video, content, and fintech/wealth management. While Triller has been marred with financial troubles, the move could help make the app competitive with TikTok at a time when TT is threatened by potential legislation and a licensing dispute with UMG. 

An antidote to the music streaming algorithm, “Music League makes music social in a way that social media, ironically, does not.”

As India continues to emerge as one of the world’s largest potential markets for streaming, some top publishers are funding writing trips for Western songwriters to work with regional stars. While this practice also exists in places like Brazil and Korea, India is perhaps the most fertile region for music-streaming opportunity with total streams surpassing 1 trillion in 2023.
